I Can't Believe How Long it has Been

I really can't believe how long it has been since I have posted. I have been busy growing my yarn business and working out in the "real world." It seems only yesterday that I opened my yarn store. I wanted to show off some more of my wonderful customer's beautiful pieces.

These first two pieces were created by KnitANDPearl. Her work is amazing! I love the swirls and geometric details she uses to create her one of a kind pieces. Find her store on Etsy at www.KnitANDPearl.etsy.com

The next one is from a very creative individual. Lolacate is another Etsy artist that creates wonderful knitted projects for her son and for the rest of the world. She used the same colorway yarn as the one above, but for some longies for her son rather than a scarf! Check out her beautiful hats and other accessories at www.LolaCate.etsy.com

My last featured artist is a customer that knits scarves as well as plush animals. Her work is exquisit and every piece is unique. Truely works of art! This neckwarmer is a beautiful piece and really shows off the colors of the yarn. Check out her pieces at www.SIDHECHILDE.etsy.com

I hope to add more as people send me their wonderful creations with my hand-dyed yarn!

Whats new?

So I have been busy dying yarn and finishing some knitting projects. Check them out on Etsy! Right now I am watching the Portland Blazer game and trying to stay organized between working, knitting, and dying yarn. I have been trying to work out a better schedule because I have felt that my time had started to be a little one-sided. I have been trying to really work on getting the yarn store off and running, and it has been to the detriment of my knitting projects.
However, I think I have found a system that allows me to express myself through yarn in many different ways. I am enjoying my multiple roles and look forward to coming up with more ideas!

Knitting!

I have been feeling like I have been neglecting my knitting lately, so this week I wanted to focus on finishing a few projects. I finished two Recycled Sari silk scarves and I had so much fun! I used a random drop stitch pattern so every one is different. The sari silk is so fun to use because you never know which color will come next.
This weekend I plan to get some new items up in my yarn store. The Tee-Shirts in my Closet colorway seems to be very popular, so I am planning to dye a few skeins and get them up as soon as possible. Check out my store to see what else I am coming up with!

I Have Been Busy

I know it has been a while since I have posted a new entry, but I have been very busy designing new yarn and working on my knitting. I have also been working in a third grade classroom as a long term substitute teacher, so I have been working on getting a schedule going that will work. There are some new items in my yarn store and a few new scarves in my knitting store so check them out. I plan to upload 4 new skeins of yarn today as well! My second installment of featured artists will be coming soon, so look for that. As the holiday season approaches I will be working hard to get more pieces listed in both stores so be looking for that. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day out there!

Featured Artists

I decided to feature some wonderful Artists out there that have used my hand-dyed yarn for some beautiful creations. This scarf was creatively knitted by KnitANDPearl! I love what she did with this yarn. She used a drop stitch pattern that created a beautiful wave effect throughout the piece. The waves really accentuate the color variations in the yarn. The photo also makes me laugh! She also creates some beautiful jewelry pieces so check out her store!

Another wonderful artist is fairly new on Etsy, but is successfully creating a name for herself with her creative and fun pieces. This neck warmer was beautifully knitted by Scarfmaker. I love the buttons she placed on this neck warmer. They are whimsical and perfect for winter. Her fingerless gloves are also very well crafted and look like they will keep your wrists warm on those cold winter nights. There is no limit to her creative style! Check her out at www.scarfmaker.etsy.com

Well, hopefully this will be the first in a series of postings showing off some of the unique pieces made with hand-dyed yarn from my shop. It is so fun and inspiring to see what artists design with your own work!

So we didn't win...

Well, the University of Oregon Ducks lost yesterday in a very upsetting game, but I still love them. It would be a difficult decision for anyone to make to remove the red shirt status of a quarterback that just turned 18 years old, and ask them to go and win the game for them. I just wished that the coaching staff made that decision during half time rather than during the 4th quarter where it is too late to do anything. We just have to brush it off and look forward to next week. Usually it is very difficult for me to get over a loss, but this one doesn't feel so bad because I know that if not for a coaching error, we had a real shot winning this game with our #5 quarterback. Go ducks!

Now, I have a few orders to work on and I also want to get some new stuff up on my site so I should be busy this week. I look forward to having some time to formulate new colors and dye the yarn.
